Year 8 have been experimenting with giving
'BETTER REASONS' for opinions. Giving reasons for opinions is
really important, and as your reasons get better - so do your levels! Look:
Level 5 Speaking:
“give reasons to explain your ideas”
Level 6 Speaking:
“providing reasons to support your views”
Level 7 Speaking:
"express opinions using evidence at times"
In this particular task, Year 8 had to give reasons to support (roots) or oppose (wind) the statement: "Mae'r Bontfaen yn anhygoel". The better their positive reason - the longer the root and the better the negative reason - the stronger the wind. Decide for yourself - will these trees stay standing because of their strong positive roots or fall down due to the strong negative winds?
